Bluboo Maya is a MediaTek quad core powered handset packed with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. This handset comes with dual SIM slot with 3G support and is running marshmallow out of the box. Maya is not officially available in India, it is priced at $70.

Design, Display and OS

The Bluboo Maya is using an aluminum frame with a good build quality and finishing. The back panel is made of plastic, it’s removable and has got nice 3D diamond textures that look great and give a premium look to the handset.

This is a dual SIM handset you can use a normal SIM and a micro SIM along with a micro SD card. Touch screen is 5.5 inches with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The screen came with a factory fitted screen guard. Color reproduction, viewing angles and touch response was good.

There is LED notification and following sensor accelerometer and proximity – light sensor is missing.

Memory and storage

There is 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM. You will get around 1.6GB free RAM and 12GB free space on the first boot. OTG is not supported.

Performance

It is powered by MediaTek MT6580 1.3GHz 32 bit quad core processor with Mali 400 MP GPU. Performance is decent, handset does not heat up much.  Hardware is not that powerful when it comes to gaming.

Gaming

Asphalt 8 was playable in high visual quality mode but for better experience you can try playing this game in medium quality mode – it was much more smoother.

Camera

On the back there is a 13MP AF camera with flash and on the front there is a 8MP camera. Rear camera can record full HD videos. Camera quality is average check the sample images at  the end of this review. There is customized beauty camera app that helps get better selfies.

Others

Sound was loud and clear, in-call sound was also pretty good. No issues with network. 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth worked well.

Battery

The 3000 mAh removable battery performance is not impressive. As per my test results you can expect 3 to 5 hours of non-stop moderate to heavy usage. It will last for a day with moderate mixed usage, was expecting more juice from a 3000 mAh battery.

It took me 3 hour 27 minutes to charge the handset using wall charger from 14% to 100%.

Verdict

Bluboo Maya is a 3G quad core smartphone with average camera. For the price you can easily get a 4G 64 bit smartphone. Sab Maya hai…
