RIM unveiled the BlackBerry Curve 9360 smartphone the latest addition to the BlackBerry Curve family, today. The BlackBerry Curve 9360 will initially be made available in India through Airtel. The Curve 9630 runs on the next generation BlackBerry 7 OS and is powered by an 800 MHz Single core processor.

The Curve 9360 has got that typical BlackBerry look tucked inside a thin chassis (it is just 11 mm thin). As in all the BlackBerry phones this handset too comes with a QWERTY keypad with optical trackpad. BlackBerry Curve 9360 is smart, stylish and social.

BlackBerry Curve 9360 features

The BlackBerry Curve 9360 not only looks great but delivers when it comes to performance. If you have used a BlackBerry phone before and if you try the 9360 you will immediately notice the difference. Browsing speed has improved along with smoother scrolling. This BlackBerry smartphone weighs just 99 grams with dimensions 60 x 109 x 11 mm.

Processor, OS and Display

As already mentioned the next generation BB version 7 OS runs on the BlackBerry Curve 9360. The latest OS along with a powerful 800 MHz processor enhances the overall experience which is smoother and much faster, than before.

The TFT display screen of size 2.44 inches (with light sensor) has been upgraded to a HVGA resolution of 480 x 360 pixels (Older BlackBerry Curve models have a lower screen resolution).  The liquid graphics technology makes viewing pleasurable perfect for watching movies or playing games.

The BlackBerry Curve 9360 houses a 5 megapixel camera which is a perfect tool to capture those precious moments. With the built in LED flash you get a better output even in low light environment. The camera comes with features such as auto focus, image stabilizer, face detection, digital zoom, scenes mode, video recording, Geo -Tagging etc.

Storage, memory and other features

The curve 9360 comes with 512 MB of internal memory and supports microSD card of up to 32 GB. The BlackBerry Curve 9360 is a 3G phone that also supports GPRS and EDGE networks, Wi-Fi comes built in, there is a micro USB slot for charging / to transfer data, BlackBerry messenger comes pre-loaded, BlackBerry Voice activated search is enabled, Built in Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS with A-GPS support.

Entertainment

Powerful processor and amazing screen clarity makes it perfect for playing games. You can listen to MP3, eAAC, WMA, WAV audio files or watch video in MP4, H.263, H.264, WMV formats. There is no built in FM radio which could be a bit of disappointment for Indian consumers who love this feature. A 3.5 mm audio jack is also present to connect external headphones.

BlackBerry curve 9360 houses a 1000 mAh Li-ion battery. Expected 3G stand by time is around 288 hours and on a 2G network you get even more up to 348 hours. You can expect talktime of up to 5 hours.
