The BlackBerry Curve 9220 and the BlackBerry Curve 9320 are upcoming models that will hit the Indian markets soon. The Curve 9220 is a low cost model with trimmed down features, affordable and cheaper than the Curve 9320.
The BlackBerry Curve 9220 does not supports 3G and does not come with built in GPS. This is a low end model with a 2.44 inch qVGA screen with 320 by 240 resolutions at 164 dpi. This model comes with 512 MB eMMC, 512 MB RAM and supports 32 GB microSD card with a hot swappable slot.
Some of the features are almost similar to the Curve 9320 and some features are trimmed down or discarded, basically to reduce the price. The BlackBerry Curve 9220 sports a 2 MP FF (Fixed Focus) camera with fixed focus lens and 5x digital zoom. Video recording is supported.
This BB handset too comes with QWERTY keypad with send, end, menu and back buttons along with an optical trackpad. Other features are 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPRS, built in FM radio and Bluetooth. Just like the 9320 this handset also comes with proximity, digital compass and accelerometer sensors.
The BB Curve 9220 is now available in India for a price of Rs. 10,990 with 1 year warranty.
