The BlackBerry Curve 9220 with a 2.44 inch TFT screen and QWERTY will soon be available in India. This looks like an entry level phone with no 3G support, it will be interesting to know the price tag.

This handset runs on the BlackBerry OS with a 2.44 inch TFT screen (this is not a touchscreen) and QWERTY keypad w/ optical trackpad. The 9220 looks like a traditional BlackBerry phone minus all high-end features.

The display supports 320 by 240 pixels resolution with 65K colours. There is a primary camera of 2 MP resolution which can even record videos. 2 MP is something that users do not talk about, today. The handset is 12.7 mm thin and comes with built in loudspeaker.

As I mentioned before this is an entry level handset minus hi-fi features, this phone does not support 3G and GPS. However you can use the GPRS / EDGE networks or surf via the built in Wi-Fi. Other features are 3.5 mm audio jack, microSD support, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, built in FM radio and media player that supports MP3, MP4, WAV, FLAC, H.263/264 and WMV files.
