The BlackBerry Bold 4 9900 is one smartphone that is making wave in the Indian market. However the BlackBerry Bold 4 is way overpriced and is available for around Rs. 32,000. This BlackBerry Bold 9900 handset comes with the BlackBerry 7.0 Operating System with Touchscreen and QWERTY keypad.

Many of my friends who had a look at the BlackBerry Bold 4 9900 find it way overpriced. The smartphone has got a cool design, but if you look at the features you really do not get convinced regarding the price. Except for the fact that it seems BlackBerry is charging a premium for just one main features which is the CPU running at 1.2 GHz. But still as far as it’s price in India is concerned I am not convinced.

BlackBerry Bold 4 (9900) features

The BB Bold 4 is powered by the Blackberry 7.0 OS and features a 2.8 inch capacitive LCD touch screen. The main highlight is the 1.2 GHz (QC 8655) processor. The disappointing factor when you look at the price, is the 5 megapixel camera, an 8 megapixel camera could have made a difference.

Bold Display

The touch screen is 2.8 inches supporting resolution of 640 x 480 pixels which is really good this makes the screen look much brighter and sharper. Thanks to the powerful processor even on a smaller screen you can enjoy high quality movies with smooth playback.

Blackberry 7.0 OS

Blackberry 7.0 is an upgrade from BB 6.0, however there is nothing new in it; it is almost similar to 6.0. Moreover the Blackberry OS is way behind when it comes to the Google android and iOS operating system.

BlackBerry Bold 4 Camera

Even at such a high price tag what you get is a 5 megapixel camera but the disappointment does not stop here. There is no secondary camera, so no video calling on BlackBerry Bold 4. Camera does come with features like auto focus, geo tagging, image stabilization, HD video recording at 720p and face detection.

Connectivity

This handset supports 3G, Wlan, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0. The Wi-Fi can also be used as a hotspot and other Wi-Fi devices can connect to it.

Other features

The BlackBerry Bold 4 comes with Magnetometer, Proximity and Accelerometer sensors. GPS come in built with A-GPS support which you can use with BlackBerry Maps.

Bold 4 review

The phone is good but way overpriced at the price tag of around Rs. 32,000 I would go with the Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 with android OS and 8 megapixel camera.
