At the CES Asus along with the Zenfone 2 also unveiled their ZOOM phone they call it the Asus Zenfone Zoom (ZX550). It is also the world’s slimmest smartphone to embed 3X Zoom lens within the 11.95mm thickness.
There are Zoom phones available in the market like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy K Zoom and now we will soon have the Zenfone Zoom joining the bandwagon. The Asus Zenfone Zoom ZX550 runs on Android Lollipop sporting a 5.5 inch screen with full HD resolution (403ppi). The screen also comes protected with corning gorilla glass 3 protection.
This smartphone is expected to hit the stores in Q2 2015 and it is powered by Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz quad core processor coupled with PowerVR G6430 GPU. It will be available in optional 2GB / 4GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB / 64GB and 128GB storage options. Users can also make use of the micro SD card slot to add up to 64GB cards.
Asus Zoom comes with a 13MP (f2.7 – f4.8 aperture) camera packed on the rear with 10 element 3x optical zoom. There is OIS (optical image stabilization), laser auto focus and zero shutter delay. There is a front camera too of 5MP resolution (f-2.0 aperture) with wide angle (88 degree) lens. You can also shoot panorama selfies using the front camera.
Accelerometer, proximity, light, gyro, magnetic and hall sensors are included. Other features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. Handset weight is 185 grams and it is 11.95mm thick. Zenfone Zoom gets power from a 3000 mAh Li-po battery. The price has not yet been disclosed.
