Amazon launched a new Kindle E-Reader that is light weight, slim and comes with a touch screen glare free display – for a price tag of Rs. 5,999. This new Kindle will be available on Amazon.in site in Black and White color options.
New Kindle features and specifications
The new Kindle is 11% thinner and 16% lighter that its predecessors. Users can easily hold in one hand. It’s using glare free screen that is clearly visible under direct sunlight, feels like reading a newspaper.
This device is using actual ink particles and hand built fonts that feels closer to reading a physical book without any eye strains. Kindle display does not emit light, you can read anytime, it also does not emit blue disturbing lights.
Screen size is 6 inches (167 ppi), it’s touch screen – device weight is 161 grams – dimensions are 115 x 160 x9.1 mm. Other features are WiFi, 4GB internal storage that can hold thousands of books and there is USB 2.0 port for charging.
The built in battery on a full charge will last for up to 4 weeks (with half hour reading per day with WiFi off). It takes approx 4 hours to charge when connected from a computer.
