The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 inch and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch tablets have been announced. These tablets will carry a price tag from Rs. 15k to 20k; however it’s not clear when these tablets will be launched in India.
Amazon claims that the Kindle Fire HD is the most advanced tablet in the world with fastest Wi-Fi, Stunning HD display resolution and exclusive Dolby audio implant. The hardware specifications are the same except for screen size or 7 inch and an 8.9 inch with different screen resolutions and CPU speed – the 7 inch is with 1.2GHz computing power whereas the 8.9 is with 1.5GHz frequency.
The 8.9 inch version supports 1920×1200 pixels resolution where as the 7 inch version comes with 1280×800 pixels resolution. These tablets come with dual antenna Wi-Fi that promises performance of up to 40% more than regular Wi-Fi’s. The Wi-Fi on the Amazon Kindle Fire HD can switch between 2.4 to 5 GHz frequency so you get fewer dropped connection, longer range and over all a 40% improvement as compared with other tablets.
For entertainment there is the exclusive Dolby audio with dual driver stereo speaker that enhances the sound levels. The display on the other hand is responsive, silky smooth, with vivid photos, crisp clarity and richer colours even at wider angles (IPS).
The Kindle Fire HD tablets are powerful, you can play HD games, watch HD movies, read ebooks comfortably thanks to the excellent IPS screen and resolution and of course the fastest Wi-Fi to help you surf better, faster.

Pricing details and release dates in India are not known yet.
The Kindle Fire HD with 7 inch screen is priced at $199 – in India expect it to be around 15K. And the Kindle Fire HD with 8.9 inch screen is priced at $299 – expected price in India around Rs. 20K.
