Good news for Indian consumers Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer has finally gone live in India. But before you start punching the Amazon word hold on, instead type Junglee.com. Yes Amazon India will run via Junglee.com a service provided by Amazon. Hey it’s the same thing just the name change in fact the Hindi meaning of Junglee sounds just perfect.

Amazon Junglee is still in its beta phase and has already listed 14K brands with about 1.2 crore products. The reason why Amazon started Junglee.com is because FDI in multi-brand retails has still not got a green signal from the government of India.

This will also mean that whatever products you see on the Junglee.com will be via the seller website. But still this is a good option because consumers can easily compare the price. Amazon is big name and the Junglee site has listed many well known brands like Homeshop18, Fabindia, Bata etc.

How will user benefit by using Junglee.com?

The main advantage for users will be that they can search for products, get details and the list of stores that are offering it with their price tag. Now when you have all the stores listed with the price you can either make the purchase from the site you trust or the site that is offering the lowest price.

Do note that when you have made a decision you will need to visit the seller website to complete the transaction. If everything looks good and with FDI allowed Amazon may start selling the products themselves. But for now check out the Junglee.com website and enjoy shopping.
