Alcatel has already launched the OneTouch Pop S7 and the Pop S9 handsets. Both the handsets are listed on their official (global) website. The S7 and the S9 are powered by quad core processor and supports 4G LTE networks.
The Alcatel OneTouch Pop S7 weighs about 162 grams and is 9.4mm thick. This handset is powered by quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz (chipset unknown). Android 4.4.2 runs out of the box over a 5 inch IPS LCD screen with qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels).
There is 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage and 32GB micro SD card support. The Pop S7 also comes with a 5MP rear auto focus camera with LED flash and a front fixed focus camera of VGA resolution. The S7 camera can shoot FHD (1080p) videos.
The Pop S7 does supports 4G LTE, other important features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) with direct / hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS with A-GPS support. There is a 3000 mAh battery that gives talk-time of up to 18 hours on 3G networks.
Alcatel OneTouch Pop S9 with optional Dual SIM weighs 182 grams and is 8.6mm thick. This handset comes with a 5.9 inch IPS LCD screen with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. The Pop S9 in fact runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 with 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and 32GB micro SD card support.
There is 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash on the rear and a 2MP camera on the front. FHD video recording with video stabilization is supported. The S9 is powered by 1.2GHz quad core processor (chipset unknown).
Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) with hotspot / direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, micro USB and GPS with GLONASS. The Pop S9 gets power from a 3400 mAh battery with estimated talk time of up to 23 hours on 3G and 36 hours on 2G networks.
I am not sure when these handsets will be made available in India. The pricing details in India is also not known, however looking at the specifications the S7 and the S9 could be priced at under Rs. 19,000. The dual SIM Alcatel Idol X+ with octa core processor is currently selling at Rs. 17,000 with 3G support.
